African mosaïque Benefit Gala

The annual African Mosaique fashion and cultural benefit gala, will take place on March 3, 2017 at the Sheraton Addis. All proceeds will benefit ECF Children’s Fund.

African Mosaique, is a premiere platform that promotes and celebrates African fashion and design. This year we present guest designers, Mike Sylla (Mike Sylla Couture) from Senegal and designer, Shaldon Kopman (Naked Ape) from South Africa, who will showcase alongside our established award winning designers; Mahlet Afewerk (Mafi) and Fikirte Addis (Yefikir Design). The show will end with the African Mosaique Collection designed by Anna Getaneh.

Our very own, Munit Mesfin; singer, songwriter, director and MC, extraordinaire will be the guest host. And international model Michelle Joseph (Zimbabwe) together with our very own 25 outstanding Ethiopian models will grace the podium.

For the past 17 years all African Mosaique events held in Addis Ababa have benefited ECF Children’s Fund, an integrated development project for children and adolescents in Aleltu, 55km north of Addis Ababa. It comprises a school, health clinic, feeding program and environmental programs for over 750 destitute and highly vulnerable children, mostly orphans and several thousands people from the surrounding communities, through it’s outreach programs.

Opening Act will be directed, narrated and performed by the ECF Drama Club.

Exquisite designs and other exciting gifts donated by sponsors and designers will be auctioned at the event.

African mosaïque Benefit Gala

One of the most anticipated annual Fashion and Cultural event on the Addis Ababa Social Calendar is taking place January 22, 2016.

This year will celebrate the 20th Anniversary from the very first African mosaïque show held at The Carrousel Du Louvre, Paris, in 1996. Special appearances by Lemn Sissay, award winning poet and actor and Sonia Rolland, former Miss France, actress and humanitarian.

Ten international and local designers will share this platform to showcase elements ranging from the festive to the ceremonial to the spectacular and classical. International African models; Adau Mornyang from South Sudan, Amaka Chirah from Nigeria, and our very own, Maya Haile Samuelsson from Ethiopia, will grace the podium with 25 outstanding Ethiopian models.

African mosaïque, is a premiere platform that promotes and celebrates African fashion and design, this year three renowned designers from the continent will be highlighted; Eric Raisina from Madagascar and Zineb Joundy from Morocco, who were both present in Paris together with international designer, Shaldon Kopman from South Africa, will present his ‘Ethiopia Inspired’ Naked Ape men’s wear collection.

Four emerging Ethiopian designers, including the top three finalist of the Annual African mosaïque Designer Competition; Freshwoyen Endrias, Minale Argaw, Samrawit G/Giorgis and Abe Seifu, together with 3 established Ethiopian Designers, Mafi, Paradise Fashion and Yefikir Design will showcase collectively. The show will end with the African mosaïque Collection designed by Anna Getaneh.

The Pan African collections includes designers, Alphadi, Mickael Kra, Machere, Nkwo, Doreen Mashika Zanzibar, Jewel by Lisa, Helen Asrat, Iman Ayissi, Eric Raisina and the African Mosaique Collection.
